Great to meet you!

My name is Andrea Castaneda, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I’ve been practicing for 6 years. I graduated with a M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University in 2019 and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Texas Pan American in 2015. My professional experience in the field of counseling varies across different agencies and a variety of age groups ranging from age 0-70+.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I strive to create a safe environment for my clients. This is an environment that is free of judgment - a place where one can come to be vulnerable and open. The therapeutic relationship is an alliance that is built on trust, which takes time to build. This environment is nurturing, empowering, affirming, and warm, allowing one to feel safe to share thoughts, feelings and behaviors that may otherwise not be shared and explored.

What you can expect from our first session

Clients can expect to take away a sense of relief, a new perspective, and a feeling of being understood and validated.
