Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified Family Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who holds an MSN in Nursing and an MS in Conflict Resolution. I am also an Army Veteran and proud to support other Veterans in their mental health journey. My diverse personal, educational, and professional background in nursing, social services, and conflict resolution has allowed me to be a well-rounded person who is able to connect with diverse populations, to include those from different ethnicities and LGBTQ identified. I have expertise in treating all ages across the lifespan who are challenged by depressed and irritable moods, anxiety, impulsive behaviors, OCD, ADHD, insomnia, grief and loss, trauma, negative thoughts, etc.

My approach to therapy

I offer a holistic approach to care that is patient-centered and patient-driven. I use active and empathetic listening to be a partner in creating an individualized treatment plan. I am passionate about working with individuals and their families to promote healthy behaviors across generations. I also offer guidance during difficult life transitions such as going away to college, marriage, divorce, parenting/co-parenting, release from prison, transitions out of the military, lifestyle choices, etc.

What you can expect from me

During your first session and going forward, you can expect an opportunity to share your concerns without judgment and gain insight as to what you may be experiencing. Clients will decide whether to only receive therapy or combine therapy with medications. I am also glad to offer second, third, etc. opinions in regards to starting or changing medications. There is never any pressure to prescribe medications with more of a focus to educate on the various treatment options. My goal at the conclusion of your first session is for you to feel heard and leave with a better understanding of your mental health.
