Great to meet you!

I'm Andrea, an LCSW who came to therapy through an unexpected path. I spent 16 years as a bilingual teacher — first in classrooms in San Antonio, then working with students whose lives carried real complexity. That work taught me how to really listen, not just hear. Now I bring that same patience and curiosity to therapy. I work with adults and teenagers navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and the kind of stress that doesn't come with easy answers. I'm bilingual in English and Spanish, and I understand what it's like to move between worlds — culturally, emotionally, and sometimes all at once. My approach is warm and practical: we'll build on what's already working in your life while making space for what isn't.

My approach to therapy

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Strength-Based approaches, which means we spend time understanding how your thoughts and patterns shape your experience — and then we work together to shift them. But I don't run every session off a script. Some days we need to problem-solve. Some days we need to process something that's been sitting too long. I adapt to what you bring. What I stay consistent on: I will not rush you, and I will always tell you the truth with care. Therapy with me feels more like a focused collaboration than a lecture

What you can expect from me

Expect a real conversation — no clipboard, no jargon. I'll ask about what brought you in, what's been hard, and what you're hoping things could feel like on the other side. I'll also ask about your strengths, because we'll need those. By the end of the first session, you should have a sense of whether we're a good fit and what working together might look like. There's no pressure — you're in charge of the pace. Evening and weekend slots are available, and I conduct all sessions over secure video. If Spanish feels more natural for you, we can work entirely in Spanish.
