I'm a behavioral health clinical social worker at the only level one trauma center in south Texas. I enjoy working with patients in high-risk populations and providing mental health care. I was a bilingual teacher for 16 years and loved it. I recently returned to social work.
Building trust between provider and client is important because it is the base a safe and productive therapeutic relationship. Providing clients genuine listening time is crucial to understanding what is needed for growth. We are always learning, even during difficult times.
Our first session is a "get to know you" meeting to gain understanding of your concerns, strengths and goals.
