Great to meet you!

I’m Andrew Gonzalez, LMFT, a therapist committed to helping clients navigate life’s most difficult and defining moments. As a former first responder, I understand the weight of high-stress environments, the impact of trauma, and the resilience required to keep going. I provide supportive, effective therapy for individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and stress tied to demanding careers—including military service and first responder work.

I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and have extensive experience working with teens, young adults, and adults across community mental health and private practice settings. My approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and practical strategies that help you feel understood, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change.

At Blue Horizon Counseling, I offer virtual therapy for clients across Tennessee. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can gain clarity, process your experiences, and build the tools you need to thrive.

My approach to therapy

I offer a calm, supportive, and collaborative therapy style designed to help you feel safe, grounded, and understood. My work focuses on helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and life transitions using practical tools, clear guidance, and a steady pace that respects your comfort and goals.

I draw from evidence-based approaches including CBT, Trauma-Informed Care, EMDR, and Strengths-Based Therapy. Each session is tailored to your needs so you can move toward healing with structure and support. As a former first responder, I also specialize in working with military members, first responders, and individuals coping with high-stress or high-responsibility careers.

My approach blends grounding techniques, coping skills, and trauma-focused interventions that help you feel more in control of your emotions and your life. Whether you’re working to reduce stress, process trauma, or build clarity and confidence, I walk with you step-by-step to create meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, I focus on creating a calm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can begin to share your story at your own pace. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative—designed to help you feel safe, understood, and empowered from the very start.

I support clients working through anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and major life transitions, using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, Trauma-Informed Care, and Strengths-Based Therapy. As a former first responder, I also provide specialized care for military personnel, first responders, and individuals navigating high-pressure careers.

During our early sessions, we’ll talk about your goals, what brought you to therapy, and what you’re hoping to change or understand. From there, I tailor each session to your needs, focusing on increasing emotional regulation, building confidence, reducing daily stress, improving communication, and developing coping strategies that fit your real life.

You can expect practical tools, grounding techniques, and clear guidance to help you move forward. Whether you’re healing from trauma, working to break old patterns, or searching for balance and clarity, my goal is to help you build a healthier, more resilient version of yourself.
