Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Andrew. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been practicing in the field since 2013.

I attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, earning my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Social Work with specific training in Mental and Behavioral Health. I began my clinical work serving those in poverty with a commitment to making mental health care more accessible. I have extensive experience providing evidence-based care for young adults, adults, and older adults from a wide variety of backgrounds, cultures, and identities. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic, and Family Systems approaches. I utilize a Solutions-Focused Framework and principles from Motivational Interviewing (MI) to draw out the strengths and innate wisdom needed for reducing symptoms, solving problems, navigating interpersonal distress, and adjusting to life's deepest challenges.

My approach to therapy

I am sincere about providing my clients the space and compassion needed to feel understood and supported.I work with adults who feel exhausted, burned out, or disconnected despite managing life well. Many carry heavy responsibilities for others and struggle to care for themselves. I work collaboratively to help clients create solutions that pave the way to deeper transformation, insight, wisdom, healthier behaviors and greater well-being.

I provide care that is strengths-based and client-centered. I employ a variety of approaches- unique to each client- while promoting healthy coping strategies that support clients in navigating times of crisis, loss, low self esteem, addiction, anxiety, and interpersonal stress. My clients would all agree that I also like to give therapeutic homework assignments. Some of my specializations include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Supportive Psychotherapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, it is my job to get to know who you are and how you hope therapy might help you. Initial sessions often involve quite a lot of information gathering- getting to know how your experiences have impacted you. Although the first session can go over a lot of details, I always aim to make these sessions warm, inviting, and supportive. Sometimes the first session can feel like a huge weight is lifted off your shoulders. I want you to feel a sense of therapeutic connection and confidence that working together will be a healing and restorative experience.
