Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Andrew Ryan and I have been a counselor (LPCC-S) for over 10 years. I have also been a counseling supervisor for over 7 years. I graduated from Kent State University with an MEd. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2014.

I have treated a broad range of clients over years. There is not much I'm unfamiliar with. I have done a lot of work with folks experiencing all forms of anxiety, panic, and trauma. I have worked with athletes for the last decade, who experience performance anxiety, doubt, low self-esteem, etc.

Lastly, I really enjoy working with those experiencing existential concerns. We can call these spiritual or "big picture" concerns or fears.

My approach to therapy

I have a holistic approach to therapy. I am not theory-driven and I don't like to limit the counseling experience to specific theoretical interventions. I'm all for what works. Which means: whatever approach we find that works well for your specific concern is what we will use.

I like to work with all aspects of a person: mind, body, and spirit, or whatever you believe to be important to you. I find a lot of folks are looking for holistic changes in their lives, but are having challenges implementing different beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and actions that would contribute in changing a person's life. We will always work within your belief systems to find sustainable changes to help along your journey.

What you can expect from me

I will always do my best to create a lighthearted environment. We will likely talk about some serious subjects, but there is always room for laughter and levity. I want you to be comfortable and feel you can say whatever needs to be said be said or felt at any given time.

I hope folks come away from sessions with my feeling emotionally lighter, empowered, confident, inspired, and motivated for change.
