Great to meet you!

Hello! I am a quirky black nerd or “blerd” who is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and I am passionate about mental wellness. As a member of many marginalized demographics, I understand the importance and impact of intersectionality not just on the macro level through laws and policies but also in the day to day. As an LCSW I graduated in 2018 from Arizona State University with a Masters in Social Work Magna Cum Laude and with my Bachelors in Psychology with minor in Sociology Magna Cum Laude from the University of Arizona in 2013. I have worked in behavioral health my whole adult life thus far. I seek to lead with non judgement, empathy and humor to connect with others. I am a semi recreationally retired athlete (rugby and basketball), massive lover of dogs, kite flying, ocean drums and “hot takes”. I look forward to connecting and ultimately helping you move forward on your healing journey in life.

My approach to therapy

I am a strong advocate for utilizing a person-centered approach in counseling. I find that when therapists lead with authenticity and humanity, it leads to clients feeling seen—and that is paramount for rapport, safety and ultimately lasting change. My goal is to build a positive therapeutic connection to best support you. I am a firm believer in using an integrated approach to best tailor treatment to fit my your needs as best I can. You can expect me to utilize cognitive, behavioral, and humanistic based approaches while incorporating additional evidenced based treatment for systemically marginalized people when appropriate.

What you can expect from me

You can expect that I will be present and that I will meet them where they are at in life. You will be met with patience and genuine care. I began providing therapy in 2016 and I often hear how I ask questions that have not been asked before, in thoughtful ways that plants seeds for self reflection, and ultimately action for desired change.
