Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Throughout my career, I have provided individual, group, and family counseling in community mental health, school-based settings, and in-home services.

I have a strong background working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral challenges, and life transitions. I also have extensive experience supporting children and families involved in adoption, foster care, and court-related systems. My goal is to meet each client where they are and provide support that is both practical and meaningful. I value building genuine connections and creating a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each individual. I understand that no two people have the same experiences, so I take time to learn what works best for each client.

I use evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, to help clients process difficult experiences and develop healthier coping strategies. I focus on helping clients build insight, strengthen emotional awareness, and develop tools they can use in their everyday lives. I also believe in being direct when needed, while still maintaining a supportive and respectful environment. Therapy is a partnership, and I work alongside clients to help them reach their goals.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and relaxed environment where they can share at their own pace. I focus on getting to know you, understanding what brought you to therapy, and identifying what you would like to work on.

We will talk through your current concerns, any relevant background, and begin to outline goals for therapy. There is no pressure to share everything at once. The goal of the first session is to build comfort, establish trust, and create a clear direction moving forward. By the end of the session, you can expect to have a better understanding of how we will work together and what next steps may look like.
