Great to meet you!

My education at Texas Southern University (B.A. in Political Science and MPA with focus on Int'l Development) and The University of Texas at Austin (MSSW with focus on Community Administrative Leadership) and experience working with military Veterans, young adults, and families has given me invaluable insight to pull from while working as a clinician, i.e., LCSW-S, who specializes in anxiety, depression, PTSD, goal-setting, behavioral change, and relationship issues.

My approach to therapy

I utilize active, nonjudgmental listening to empathize with the client as a unique individual with a unique set of life circumstances. I implement motivational interviewing to better understand the clients strengths, most important issues, values, goals, intentions, expectations, and actual needs (vs. perceived needs). I exercise compassion and patience when problem-solving, developing intervention plans, challenging assumptions, monitoring progress, and/or managing behavioral change.

What you can expect from me

I meet individuals where they are to get a better understanding of their unique mindsets, life situations, and contextual factors. I assist clients in their personal journeys of self-discovery, self-awareness, self-compassion, self-love, self-discipline, self-empowerment, and self-actualization. By understanding and enhancing our own biopsychosocial health systems, we are better empowered to adapt to, and optimize, our life's circumstances. Clients' take-away: an increased trust in themselves.
