Angela Barraza

My name is Angela Barraza and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Biology and a Master of Education in Guidance & Counseling from the University of Texas at El Paso. I am a Certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapist, and a Trust Based Relational Intervention Practitioner.

I have many years of experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma, symptoms of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, anger, stress, social problems, behavioral problems, adjustment issues and individuals involved domestic violence. I have also been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Screening & Brief Motivational Interventions, Trauma Informed Care, Individual Crisis and Group Crisis Intervention.

Relationships are essential to build resilience. You are not alone and all it takes is one healthy relationship to rewire your brain. Together we will create therapy goals for your treatment plan and strategize on how you can achieve those goals. We will work on coping skills, emotion recognition, communication and building on strengths for overall well being.
