Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Angela Battise, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am passionate about serving diverse populations including multicultural/multiracial, underserved and marginalized families, couples and individuals ages 10 years and up. I have a specialized interest in blended families, religious/spiritual abuse and trauma, substance use disorders and nature-based therapy. I encourage and support positive, holistic wellness.

I earned my BA in Cultural Anthropology and Diversity Studies at Texas State University. I received my M.Ed. in Counseling & Development with a focus on Marriage, Couples and Family Therapy from Lamar University.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is as individual as you are. I use a client-centered, solution-focused style, meeting you where you are and working collaboratively to support meaningful change.

My work is trauma-informed and grounded in multicultural awareness. I honor and respect each client’s unique cultural background, identity, and lived experiences, and strive to create a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel seen and understood.

I also take a holistic approach and incorporate evidence-based techniques such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing to help you build practical skills, increase self-awareness, and reach your personal goals.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my focus is on helping you feel comfortable, respected, and able to show up as you are. I believe in meeting you where you are, and you can expect a genuine, down-to-earth approach where your experiences and perspective are truly valued.

This is a time for us to get to know each other. We’ll explore what brings you to therapy, discuss what you’d like to work toward, and begin identifying what support could look like for you. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.

My work is trauma-informed, holistic, and grounded in multicultural awareness, recognizing the many factors that shape your experiences and well-being. My goal is for you to leave sessions feeling empowered, more confident in yourself, and supported as you work toward lasting, meaningful change.
