Great to meet you!

Your brain won’t shut up. I get it.

Therapy for overthinkers, people-pleasers, and anyone dealing with anxiety, depression, or ADHD while exhausting themselves trying to hold it all together.

Hi, I’m Angela DeGiaimo, LCSW—therapist, lifelong New Yorker, ADHD-haver, dog mom, and someone who genuinely gets what it’s like to feel like you’re winging this whole “adult human” thing.

I’ve been a therapist for nearly 20 years. I work with teens and adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, identity questions, and the fallout of growing up in families that weren’t quite what you needed. My clients are overthinkers, people-pleasers, and thoughtful misfits exhausted from performing “fine” while everything inside feels like chaos.

You might be here because:

You’re trying to understand why you keep repeating the same patterns and you’re tired of feeling stuck. Maybe you can’t get over things from the past. Maybe you feel like everyone else got a manual on being a person and you’re just improvising. You struggle with anxiety that won’t turn off, ADHD that makes everything harder, or depression that makes everything feel flat and pointless. Maybe you’re burned out—not just tired, but genuinely don’t care about things that used to matter. You’re navigating boundaries, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and constantly letting everyone down—including yourself.

Maybe you’re navigating a life transition—career change, breakup, new relationship, becoming a parent. Or exploring who you are beyond the roles you’ve always played. Questions about identity, sexuality, gender, race, or culture are swirling. If any of this resonates—you’re in the right place.

A note for the self-doubters:

If you’re thinking “maybe I’m just being dramatic” or “other people have it worse”—that’s the anxiety talking. Those thoughts are exactly why therapy could help. You don’t need to earn the right to feel better.

My approach to therapy

Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and grounded in your actual life—not textbook theories. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness, but I adapt everything to fit you. We’ll work together to understand what’s underneath the anxiety, depression, burnout, and patterns. We’ll build practical tools that actually help. And we’ll make space for the hard stuff, the funny stuff, and everything in between.

You don’t have to do this alone. Let’s figure it out together.

Whether it’s your first time in therapy or you’re giving it another try, book a free 15-minute consultation—no pressure, no therapy-speak, just an honest conversation about what you’re dealing with and whether I can help.

What you can expect from me

Clients often tell me they leave sessions feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to themselves. You can expect to take away a better understanding of what’s going on beneath the surface, new ways to cope with what’s hard, and tools that actually fit your life—not just one-size-fits-all advice. My hope is that over time, you’ll start to feel more confident in your decisions, more compassionate toward yourself, and more grounded in who you are. And maybe even laugh a little along the way.
