Angela completed her undergraduate studies at Sam Houston State University with a BA in Criminal Justice-Police Sciences and obtained her graduate degree from Grand Canyon University a private Christian university . For the last 20 years Angela has worked with individuals involved in the justice system with varies mental health diagnosis, namely Schizophrenia, Bipolar, and Major depressive disorders with focus placed on crisis intervention, coping skills, life skills, along with stress/anger management. Clients are provided with tools to move toward positive change behaviors. The last 10 years Angela has focused on providing services to severely mentally ill clients that have been found Not Guilty by Reasons of Insanity and requiring intensive court ordered supervision. Currently her focus is placed on working with children, adolescents, couples and adults. Angela prefers a hands on therapeutic approach to problem solving, applying evidence based practices, solution focused, and cognitive behavioral therapy theories. Therapy is a personal journey that should focus on the client's needs, while ensuring goals and expectations of the client are met in a careful and respectful manner
