Great to meet you!

Welcome! I’m Angela Green, a licensed professional counselor. I work with clients aged 18 and older, who are experiencing anxiety, ADHD, stress, trauma, problems building and maintaining relationships, moods interfering with job/school performance, and trouble managing emotions, irrational thoughts, and negative behaviors. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Meditation and Mindfulness-based stress reduction. I provide Christian based counseling upon request.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is determined by the unique and specific needs of each client. My primary therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) therapies, and Mindfulness to assist you in challenging negative thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes and the resulting associated behaviors. To help you stay in contact with the present moment regardless of unpleasant circumstances, feelings/ emotions, and bodily sensations. I also use other therapy modalities to explore one's past to work on unresolved emotional wounds. The focus of treatment is to improve emotional regulation and develop skills and coping strategies to help you navigate the world around you, thrive in school and work, and maintain meaningful relationships.

You may be experiencing anxiousness, social discomfort, stress, overwhelming feelings, low confidence/ self-esteem, parenting or family discord, an intellectual/learning disability, or you may be struggling in college or just graduated trying to handle life’s challenges/ transitions. I specialize in anxiety, stress, ADHD, traumatic experiences, and mood dysregulation. My goal in the therapeutic partnership is to help you gain insight to start improving your mental health and overall well-being leading to personal growth.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I will ask you questions about your background, and we will discuss what brings you to counseling and the concerns you want to focus on. We will also talk about how sometimes counseling can be challenging and may require you to experience and recall uncomfortable feelings or memories. This is a normal part of the counseling process and can be different for each person. In collaboration, we will work during the sessions that follow to develop your goals and take steps that guide you toward achieving them.

My approach to setting goals for therapy is to work in a partnership with you to define what you want to accomplish during our time together. This begins by building a trusting relationship and becoming comfortable with what it means to be in therapy. We will work together to set, track, and achieve the goals that are important to you.
