Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Angie. I am an LMHC in Indiana and an LPCA in Kentucky.

I studied psychology and linguistics in my undergrad and pursued a career in speech and language therapy. I discovered a passion for mental health and pivoted, after developing a profound respect for the field as a person who found tremendous support and healing in my own therapy journey. I completed my masters in clinical mental health counseling from Concordia University Irvine in 2024. I pursued a teaching institute, Forge Counseling Collective, for my professional development in Colorado for my counseling internship which provided excellent mentorship and supervision. I returned to my home in 2025 to be near my family in Kentuckiana.

My approach to therapy

I enjoy working with a variety of issues people encounter throughout life. I do offer a few special focus areas where I have more extensive experience and training: attachment wounds, chronic illness, religious/spiritual trauma, and body image.

I draw most heavily from person-centered and attachment-based theories. I believe as a therapist that it is critical for me to hold onto the view that you are doing the best you can with the cards you were dealt. I believe in collaboratively finding what works for you and I want to empower you to claim your authority in determining whatever that is. While we certainly can use therapy for a variety of support, it is my opinion that therapy is uniquely positioned to tend to attachment wounds like no other relationship as an adult can simply because it is focused on you. I am committed to joining and supporting you in your internal experience at the pace and degree where you want me.

I am Gottman certified level 1 for couples counseling. I provide ketamine assisted psychotherapy (KAP) and received my certification in this approach from Journey Clinical. I am pursuing continued training toward certification in AEDP.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I generally like to know what is important to you: what’s going on right now, what do you want out of therapy, how can we discern in the future that therapy was helpful, if anything feels important to know about me. I send an intake form to gather some information, but I defer to you on how much or how little you want to share with me.

While openness is usually a part of therapy, I recognize that trust is earned, and I am okay moving at your pace.

I know that I can be wrong, and I really like to verify with you if my summarizations or assumptions about you fit what you’re experiencing: I care way more about you feeling heard and supported than about being right.

In our first session, I will hear a bit about your story, what brings you in, and we will decide together how to best move toward your goals.
