Great to meet you!
Hi, I'm Angela, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) practicing in Tennessee through Bright Days Mental Health Services.
I came to this work the long way. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent about 20 years as a psychiatric registered nurse — at Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital, Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, and the VA. That means I've sat with people on some of the hardest days of their lives, long before I was the one writing the prescription. I'm also an Army veteran; I served with the 101st Airborne and deployed to Iraq in 2003–2004. If you're a service member, a veteran, or a military spouse, you won't have to explain the culture to me.
I earned my PMHNP degree from Western Kentucky University. In practice, I focus on medication management for depression, anxiety, panic, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and mild ADHD in adults. My approach is collaborative — I'll tell you what I'm thinking and why, and we'll decide together. I'd rather start low, go slow, and get it right than rush you onto something that doesn't fit your life.
Appointments are by telehealth, which makes it easier to fit care around work, school, and family. If you're ready to start, I'd be honored to meet you.
