Great to meet you!

Are you feeling anxious, weighed down, or stuck in the past? You don't have to sort it out alone. I'm Angela Miles, a Florida LCSW, and I help children, teens, and adults with anxiety, depression, and trauma. My approach is open-minded and supportive. I use CBT, CPT, and solution-focused modalities and tools to help you move forward, one mile at a time. In person near Daytona Beach or by telehealth across Florida.

My approach to therapy

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has worked in social work since 2012. My experience includes substance abuse treatment, serving the homeless community alongside people with severe and persistent mental illness, working on crisis units in hospital settings, and providing outpatient therapy with Chrysalis Health. Across those settings, I've supported children, adolescents, adults, and seniors through trauma, depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, and substance use concerns. My approach is supportive, open-minded, and goal-oriented. I use Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) to identify and reframe unhelpful thoughts and build coping skills, and Trauma Focused CBT and Cognitive Processing (CPT) to process traumatic experiences and the beliefs they leave behind about safety, trust, and self-worth. I also draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you make room for difficult thoughts and move toward your values, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to set clear goals and build on what's already working.

What you can expect from me

Feeling nervous before your first session is completely normal — most people do. Your first session is a relaxed, one-on-one conversation with me, in person or by telehealth, where the only goal is for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what brought you in, what's been hardest lately, and a little about your background and what you'd like to be different. You stay in control of the conversation: share as much or as little as feels right, skip anything you're not ready for, and ask me questions at any point. By the end of the first session, we'll outline a plan together and talk about next steps, so you'll know exactly what working with me looks like — no pressure, no judgment, and nothing you have to say perfectly.
