Great to meet you!

Down to earth, compassionate, and curious, I am a therapist who loves working with clients eager to deepen their experience of living.

Have you ever found yourself wondering if there's more to life than the daily grind? Do you struggle with apathy, depression, a looming sense of anxiety, or loneliness? Maybe you're a college student uncertain of what the future holds, or a parent worried about how your own upbringing may be affecting how you raise your kids. Maybe you're more acquainted with grief than you'd like to be, or you're wrestling with questions of doubt and faith. Let's connect. I can't wait to hear your story.

My experience as a therapist is rooted in the belief that the therapeutic relationship itself is incredibly sacred, and is quite often the very catalyst of change in clients seeking to heal from trauma, relational wounds, depression, anxiety, and other related concerns. I use a person-centered approach with my clients and occasionally interweave psychodynamic interventions to encourage a deeper reflection on meaning, purpose, and value. Many of my clients are looking for practical tools to help address unhelpful thinking patterns or establish healthier habits in their routine, and for this, I will integrate cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). I am also trained in using Gottman techniques for couples counseling, I-CBT for managing OCD, and ego-state therapy for those looking for a gentler approach to healing from childhood trauma. For those interested, I also provide Christian counseling.

My approach to therapy

As a Christian, I believe that every human being is created with intrinsic worth and therefore, deserves the attention, compassion, and care they need to overcome whatever challenges come their way. I didn't come by my own faith easily (and honestly, no one should), so engaging in conversations on belief and doubt are very important to me. I am also quite passionate about the intersection of faith, humanity, and mental health, and so I welcome clients who care deeply about these things and wish to explore them in their own therapeutic process.

What you can expect from me

In our first session together, my goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible. I want to get to know you, and also help you know who I am so we can determine if I am a good fit for you. I'll have plenty of questions prepared to help you reflect and describe what feels most important to work on in therapy. You definitely don't need to rehearse anything– just come as you are and we'll take it at a pace that works for you. Bring your coffee, bring your dog. Feel free to kick off your shoes too if that helps you settle in, too!
