Great to meet you!

I am Dr. Otegbulu Otegbulu, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a PhD in Nursing. I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered mental health care. I value listening, respect, and collaboration, and I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and supported. My approach focuses on individualized treatment, ethical practice, and empowering clients to take an active role in their mental wellness journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based. I believe in treating the whole person, not just symptoms. Care begins with listening carefully to understand each patient’s experiences, concerns, and goals in a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental environment.

Treatment plans are individualized and may include medication management, education, lifestyle recommendations, and coordination with therapists or other healthcare providers when appropriate. I emphasize shared decision-making, ensuring patients are informed, involved, and comfortable with their treatment choices.

My goal is to provide ethical, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed care that supports long-term mental wellness, stability, and improved quality of life.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, we will focus on understanding you as a whole person. The appointment typically includes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation where we discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, medications, lifestyle factors, and treatment goals. This is a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you are encouraged to share openly at your own pace.

Based on the assessment, we will discuss possible diagnoses (if appropriate), treatment options, and recommendations. This may include medication management, lifestyle strategies, and referrals to therapy or other supportive services if needed. You will have time to ask questions, express concerns, and actively participate in creating a treatment plan that aligns with your needs and preferences.

Our goal for the first session is to build trust, provide clarity, and establish a collaborative plan to support your mental well-being moving forward.
