My saying "Mind over Matter- If your mind isn't right, the rest doesn't matter" helps people understand the significance of positive mental health.
I have been treating mental health conditions in the primary care setting for over 25 years. Dealing with anxiety and ADHD as an adult has helped me understand the challenges of the healthcare system for someone with mental health conditions.
I do not have all the answers- you do. I want to help you find the inner strength and resilience to manage challenges, and the mental capacity to improve your own mental health. We are our strongest ally and our most significant barrier to living our best life.
I am a lifelong learner. I have returned to school 4 times to learn new approaches and techniques for patient care. I am involved in research and education as I teach in a graduate nursing program for DNP, FNP, and PMHNP students. I have varied interests and am always pursuing new training or certifications to help me provide the best for my clients. Currently, I am seeking certification in grief counseling and art therapy. In the future, I hope to become certified in EMDR therapy for PTSD, as I am passionate about improving the quality of life for victims with trauma-induced mental health conditions.
