Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m a warm, empathic counselor with over 15 years of experience helping people navigate stress, anxiety, depression, identity questions, and major life transitions. I’ve worked in crisis services assessing for suicidal ideation and supporting people with a wide range of mental health diagnoses, including dual diagnosis and serious mental illness. I especially enjoy working with adults, teens, and adolescents who are ready to make meaningful changes and want to feel heard, understood, and supported.

I care deeply about finding and building on your strengths so you can reconnect with your reasons for living, your values, and your sense of possibility. I love working with the LGBTQ+ community and am also a parent to a child who is part of the LGBTQ+ community, which informs my affirming, inclusive approach. I also enjoy working with couples who want to improve communication and feel more connected in their relationships.

My approach to therapy

In our work together, I’ll bring a person-centered, strength-based, and goal-oriented approach. I draw from motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and existential therapy, and I always keep an affirming lens. I am not a “spreadsheet kind of counselor” — I’m creative and flexible, and if I offer homework, it’s often in the form of simple, real-life activities rather than worksheets.

You can expect me to listen closely, reflect back what I hear, and work with you to develop goals and strategies that truly fit you. Sessions are collaborative: I’ll offer tools, skills, and perspectives, while also giving you space to come to your own insights so that change feels authentic and sustainable.

What you can expect from me

My priority is creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable being yourself. Many people I work with are dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, job and stress-related concerns, identity and gender questions, or relationship challenges. I focus on helping you feel heard, less alone, and more hopeful, while we build practical coping skills you can use day to day.

If you appreciate nature, out-of-the-box thinking, and a counselor who is genuinely interested in your story, we may be a great fit. Together, we’ll explore your personal journey and find a path toward feeling mentally stronger, more grounded, and more like yourself again. If you feel I might be a good match, I’d be honored to work with you.
