Great to meet you!

Angela Yates, LMHC is a licensed mental health counselor with over 18 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges. She works with individuals facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, and other challenges, and is an LGBTQIA+ advocate who offers a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental space where everyone feels heard and valued.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is individualized and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when clients feel comfortable, supported, and able to be honest and vulnerable in a nonjudgmental space. I work alongside my clients to better understand their experiences, identify patterns, and connect the pieces that contribute to their current challenges. I listen carefully, offer support and guidance, and appropriately challenge to promote insight, growth, and meaningful change. Together, we focus on building awareness, developing effective coping strategies, and creating lasting progress that aligns with each client's goal.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment where they feel safe, heard, and respected. The first session is an opportunity to share your story, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore what you hope to achieve. We will begin building a strong therapeutic connection while identifying initial goals and areas of focus. This session is collaborative and paced to your comfort level, allowing us to create a foundation for ongoing therapeutic work together. In the sessions that follow, we will continue to refine goals and work toward meaningful, realistic change at a pace that feels right for you.
