Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Dr. Angeleque Akin-Little. I am a licensed psychologist, a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D) and a registered mindfulness yoga instructor (E-RYT 500). I use a behavioral focus with the emphasis on finding practical solutions. My focus is on all areas of child and adolescent development particularly autism, internalizing disorders and externalizing disorders and families. I focus on meaningful behavioral change and increased well-being.

My approach to therapy

I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Focused Acceptance and Commitment and Applied Behavior Analysis. I create an atmosphere of respect for strengths and a focus on building upon those strengths. I seek to normalize psychological stress and promote well-being, acceptance, and creation and progress toward goals. Your voice is the most important voice in our therapeutic sessions.

What you can expect from me

The first session includes a description of the limits of confidentiality, and primarily learning about client's past experience with therapy and his/her expectation of therapy. Finally, discussion of the client's goals of therapy. I identify environmental factors that both impede and support the goals. Goals which will be supported in the existing environment are created, measured with both maintenance and generalization programmed in a cooperative style.
