Great to meet you!

Do you often feel like you’re not good enough or find yourself out of touch with your body? I’m Angelica Correa, and I specialize in helping high-functioning people of color who have experienced trauma move toward feeling worthy, connected, and capable. With over eight years of experience, I am passionate about creating a safe, confidential space where you can explore the thoughts and experiences that shape your life. I feel privileged to help my clients achieve their goals and improve their lives by guiding them through a journey of personal growth and deep self-discovery.

I believe that healing involves more than just talk; it requires reconnecting with your physical self and exploring the creative ways we relate to others. My work is particularly focused on helping clients understand how past trauma influences their present patterns, and I offer sessions in both English and Spanish to ensure my community feels fully understood. I want my clients to feel safe and empowered during their time with me, knowing that their strengths are the foundation of our work together. When I’m not in session, I stay grounded through my own creative outlets and a personal commitment to mindfulness and physical well-being.

My approach to therapy

My approach centers on Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, somatic practices, and humanistic principles. This means we won’t just examine your thoughts; we will work on increasing your awareness and grounding yourself in the present moment through curiosity and compassion. I pull from a variety of modalities, including Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Narrative therapy, to process and challenge maladaptive patterns with care. I hope that my clients will be able to positively grow while working together by tapping into their inherent strengths to overcome current struggles.

We will focus on building skills for better connection, communication, and self-understanding. By integrating somatic techniques, I help you bridge the gap between your mind and body, allowing for a more holistic form of healing. My style is collaborative and tailored to your specific needs, focusing on creating a supportive environment where you can explore yourself freely. Clients should expect to feel heard and supported throughout our time together as we cultivate increased levels of gratitude and compassion in your daily life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a low-pressure opportunity for us to connect and for you to start feeling supported from the very beginning. We will spend time exploring what brought you into therapy and what you hope to see change, ensuring that our roadmap forward feels safe and clear. You don't have to have all the answers right away; our first meeting is simply a space to examine your experiences with care and curiosity.

My goal is for you to leave our first hour with a sense of clarity and a better understanding of how our partnership will support your growth. We’ll discuss how my specific blend of mindfulness and somatic work can address your needs and begin identifying the next steps for your journey. You can expect a session that is welcoming and empowering, setting the foundation for a transformative relationship built on mutual trust.
