I'm Angelica Rios, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I work with children, adolescents, and their families, with a particular focus on school-age children between the ages of six and twelve. My background is in school-based mental health. I currently serve as a clinical social worker for the Fresno Unified School District, where I work alongside a team of over eighty clinical colleagues supporting students across the district.
My practice is telehealth-only, with weekend availability to accommodate families whose schedules make weekday sessions difficult. When I accept a client, I plan to be there for the full course of their work. That continuity matters most for younger clients working through complex challenges.
I look forward to seeing if we are a good fit.
My primary modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention. I draw on whichever approach best fits each client's needs and goals in that season of their work.
I take a measurement-based approach across all my cases. From our first session, I establish a clear baseline using age-appropriate assessment tools so we know where we are starting and can track meaningful progress over time. This is especially important with younger clients, where having the right tools for a specific age group shapes the quality of care directly.
My goal is to meet each client where they are and tailor the work accordingly.
The first session is a conversation. I will ask what brought you in, what your child or family has been experiencing, and what you are hoping therapy can provide. I will also walk through my approach and the assessment tools I use to establish where we are starting.
By the end of our first meeting, we will both have a clear sense of whether working together is the right fit.
