Great to meet you!
I’m Dr. Angie Cruz, DSW, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience supporting children, families, and individuals through grief, loss, and major life transitions. As both a therapist and a parent, I understand firsthand the emotional complexity of navigating family change, identity shifts, and seasons of uncertainty.
My professional foundation is rooted in child welfare, where I have worked extensively with children and families impacted by parental loss, foster care and adoption transitions, trauma, and court-involved systems. This experience deeply informs my clinical lens and commitment to advocacy, safety, and long-term healing for vulnerable children and families.
I am a Doctor of Social Work and a college professor in social work, bringing an integrated perspective that bridges practice, teaching, and systems-level understanding. My clinical work focuses on supporting children, parents, and families navigating parental bereavement, divorce and separation, ambiguous loss, postpartum and parenting challenges, and identity-related struggles.
Across my work in private practice, child welfare, and higher education, I use a trauma-informed, attachment-based, and culturally responsive approach, creating a compassionate and affirming space where healing, meaning-making, and resilience can unfold.
