Great to meet you!

Hi, I am Angie Woods, the CEO and Founder of Empowering Lives Counseling and Consulting. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Additionally, I am Certified in Neuropsychotherapy, skilled in learning how the mind, body, and brain connect, and also certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy, which is the evidence-based treatment for PTSD. As a military spouse of an Army retiree, I understand firsthand the lasting impact of PTSD — not only on the veteran but on the entire family. I’ve witnessed the invisible wounds of service and the resilience it takes to heal together. I am skilled in providing services for a wide range of mental and emotional problems to families, individuals, children, teens, and couples. While friends and loved ones can be a great source of support, I provide that extra guidance and expertise that can help promote inner healing. Whether you are in search of healing from brokenness, restoration from self-doubt, anxiety, depression, insecurity, problems at the workplace, grieving the loss of a loved one, dealing with separation or divorce, marital problems, relationship problems, PTSD, or whatever the need, I am here to help. I aim to improve communication and coping skills, mentoring, strengthening self-esteem, promoting behavior change, and optimal mental health.

My approach to therapy

In my practice, I partner with clients to work toward outcomes such as:

  1. Increased Self-Awareness
    • Clients will gain a deeper understanding of their emotions, behaviors, and thought patterns.
  2. Improved Emotional Regulation
    • Clients will learn healthy ways to manage stress, anger, sadness, and anxiety.
  3. Healthier Relationships
    • Clients will develop skills to improve communication, set boundaries, and strengthen relationships with loved ones.
  4. Healing from Past Experiences
    • Clients will process trauma, grief, or emotional wounds to foster personal growth and self-compassion.
  5. Enhanced Coping and Resilience
    • Clients will identify and practice coping strategies that promote mental and emotional well-being.
  6. Goal-Directed Living
    • Clients will clarify personal values and life goals, aligning their actions with what matters most to them.
  7. Empowerment and Self-Confidence
    • Clients will build confidence in their ability to make decisions, trust themselves, and create positive change.
