Great to meet you!

As a doctorally prepared, board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I provide compassionate, holistic, and evidence-based mental health care designed to support emotional healing and overall well-being. I earned my Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Nursing from the University of West Georgia and completed my Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. With over nine years of clinical experience across inpatient psychiatry, outpatient behavioral health, interventional psychiatry, critical care, and telepsychiatry, I have had the privilege of working within several nationally recognized hospital systems—experiences that have significantly shaped my clinical judgment, adaptability, and depth of expertise.

I specialize in the treatment of ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and substance use disorders across the lifespan.

I believe effective mental health care extends beyond medication alone. While psychopharmacology is thoughtfully utilized when clinically indicated, I place strong emphasis on integrative, non-pharmacological approaches such as psychotherapy, mindfulness-based techniques, lifestyle optimization, stress management, and patient education. My goal is to help clients develop practical tools that support long-term stability, resilience, and meaningful recovery.

I approach care as a collaborative partnership, ensuring each patient feels heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment journey. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and judgment-free environment where care is personalized, goals are clearly defined, and progress feels achievable. By blending clinical expertise with holistic strategies, I aim to help individuals move toward lasting improvements in their mental health and overall quality of life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, patient-centered, and evidence-based. I focus on creating a supportive, judgment-free environment where clients feel heard and actively involved in their treatment. Care is individualized, with thoughtful integration of psychopharmacology when indicated alongside psychotherapy and holistic, non-pharmacological interventions.

I emphasize practical strategies such as mindfulness, lifestyle optimization, stress management, and patient education to support long-term stability and resilience.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect their first session to be thorough, supportive, and thoughtfully structured. The initial visit focuses on understanding your concerns, personal history, and treatment goals, while creating a comfortable, judgment-free environment in which you feel heard and respected. We will review relevant medical and mental health histories, current symptoms, and prior treatments to develop a clear, comprehensive understanding of your needs.

Together, we will begin establishing realistic goals and a personalized treatment plan that may include medication recommendations, therapeutic strategies, and holistic approaches tailored to your preferences. You can expect education, open dialogue, and a clear outline of next steps, leaving the session with a sense of direction, support, and confidence in the care process.
