Great to meet you!

As a licensed psychotherapist, my goal is to bring about lasting change by using science-backed techniques to help you identify, target, and repair negative, destructive, and sometimes unconscious patterns that stand in the way of achieving a sense of groundedness and peace in life. With over 25 years of clinical experience, I look forward to working with you on your journey toward creating meaningful changes in your life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in the understanding that while every individual is unique, we all share fundamental human needs. When those needs go unmet, they can influence how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us. I tailor treatment to each client's unique history and experiences using science-based techniques to help identify patterns, build insight, and support meaningful, lasting change. I integrate both insight oriented, and present focused approaches, including mindfulness and grounding practices to support emotional awareness, regulation, and resilience. Therapy can attempt to move directly into mindfulness, and while mindfulness is an integral part of healing, it can be very difficult to achieve until healing is done. This supports the totality of emotional awareness, resilience, and well-being.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, clients can expect a warm, collaborative, and supportive environment, where they can begin to share what brings them to therapy at their own pace. My priority is to create a space that feels safe, non-judgmental, and grounded so the client can feel understood. We will explore current concerns, relevant personal history, and what you were hoping to get out of therapy. Together, we will begin to identify initial goals for treatment, which often include increasing emotional awareness, understanding patterns that may feel stuck or repetitive, and building tools for regulation, grounding, and coping. While deeper insight develops overtime, many clients also begin learning practical strategies they can use between sessions.
