Great to meet you!
Hi, I’m Ankita! My name is pronounced ahn-KEE-tha and I use she/her pronouns. I received my MSW from UC Berkeley and my BA in Psychology and Gender Studies from the University of Michigan. I've been in private practice for the past 5 years, and prior to that worked for a decade in hospitals, schools, residential treatment, and foster care/adoption settings.
Clients who work with me tend to be introspective with vivid inner lives. They’re looking for a space where their complexity is welcome. Many are highly sensitive and want help navigating everyday life while creating more sustainable conditions. I often work with BIPOC, queer, and trans clients whose histories are shaped by intergenerational trauma, assimilation and performance pressure, and nervous system wear and tear. What my clients share is a desire for more secure relationships, with themselves and with others. Together, we tend to old wounds, unpack current patterns, and experiment with new ways of relating.
I’m a queer, 1.5 generation Indian American ciswoman who has spent many years engaged in my own inner work. While our struggles are unique, my lived experience alongside over 15 years of clinical work allows me to accompany clients with humility and deep care. If you’re looking for a place you can be known, most of all to yourself, I invite you to reach out.
