I am a licensed clinical social worker and have been in the field for five years. I believe that therapy should be accessible and available to everyone. As a woman of color myself, my work centers on empowering people of color and women to feel comfortable in their own skin and to take up space unapologetically.
I approach therapy from a strengths based perspective, believing that everyone is capable of change, self reflection, and growth. I strive to be affirming while also challenging mindsets as this is where change happens. I fully acknowledge that therapy is difficult work and there may be times where we may experience ruptures in our therapeutic relationship but I always strive to make repairs.
Our first session together is a getting to know me session. You can expect to hear about my approach, to tell me more about yourself and what brings you to therapy, and to ask questions of me.
In the first session, you will also identify your goal for therapy: where do you want to see yourself in a month's time, in six months, in a year?
