Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Dr. Anna Hurlebaus, a psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 37 years of nursing experience. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Georgia State University in 2017 and have been specializing in psychiatric mental health since completing my master’s degree in 1990. Throughout my career, I have worked in diverse settings, including psychiatric emergency services, crisis stabilization, inpatient care, private practice, and consult liaison. My expertise spans a wide range of areas, including eating disorders, substance use treatment, end-of-life care, and mental health education. I am passionate about providing compassionate, individualized care that considers both medical and psychiatric health.

My approach to therapy

I take a holistic approach to mental health care, recognizing the deep connection between the mind, body, and spirit. My goal is to meet each client where they are, tailoring treatment to their unique needs and lifestyle. I believe in empowering my clients through education, ensuring they understand their treatment options—including medication and alternative approaches—so they can make informed decisions about their care. Building trust and creating a safe, non-judgmental space is essential to my practice. I emphasize collaboration and encourage clients to take an active role in achieving balance and well-being.

What you can expect from me

When you work with me, you can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where your concerns are heard and validated. My goal is to help you gain a deeper understanding of your mental health, explore treatment options that align with your needs, and support you in making meaningful changes. I aim to help you feel more at ease with yourself, empowered in your health journey, and confident in the steps you’re taking toward wellness. Together, we’ll work on achieving stability, balance, and personal growth.
