Deciding to start counseling is a big decision. I understand that success in therapy depends on finding a competent clinician who will provide a safe and affirming environment where you are able to explore yourself openly and meet your treatment goals. I have supported clients from diverse backgrounds in a variety of settings with navigating challenging dynamics in their lives and exploring their potential.
My approach is warm, interactive, and non-judgmental. I help people develop their personal insight, self-esteem, motivation, and identify coping skills that meet their specific needs. I specialize in working with couples and individuals, including children and adolescents, who are navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, transitions, and relationship difficulties. I also specialize in helping clients understand personality disorders and their effects on families and relationships. Through developing this awareness, clients can regain a sense of self after trauma from emotional mistreatment.
During our initial session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, and talk about your history and your goals. As we continue meeting, we will collaborate to create a plan that addresses your needs in a way that feels comfortable to you. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter.
