Nice to meet you! I offer both in-person therapy in the SF Bay Area and virtual therapy throughout California, currently for adults. My training includes cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally-focused individual therapy, and mindfulness approaches. Practice specialties include working with grief and loss, identity exploration, depression and anxiety.
I base my approach on what we know about attachment, trauma, and resilience--we can grow even through painful experiences, especially when we have support. We’ll explore ways you are shaped by family, community, and culture, and what this means about how you show up in the world. Some things I like to make space for in therapy: making meaning through music, books and art; playing with language to deepen understanding; iand finding lightness/humor even in the dark times or places.
I will help you identify what matters most to you, and build personal goals for therapy with this in mind. We’ll look at the parts of your life that foster wellness, and develop these strengths. We'll explore situations and experiences that challenge you, and learn to shift these in realistic ways. This could include strategies to build self awareness/acceptance, cope with painful emotions, act in ways that align with your values, and effectively communicate in important relationships.
