Great to meet you!

You might be here for yourself, or you might be here because someone you love is struggling and you are not sure what else to do. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, including people navigating some of the most complex family situations there are: foster care, kinship arrangements, adoption, and the transitions that come with each. My style is warm, conversational, and honest, and I care just as much about what is happening around you as what is happening inside you. You do not need to have the right words or have everything figured out before we begin. Clients often describe me as easy to talk to, someone who brings both warmth and real honesty to the work.

My approach to therapy

In our work together, we will spend time understanding not just what is happening inside you, but how your relationships, life experiences, and the world around you have shaped where you are today. For families with children, I approach behavior as communication. When a child is struggling, I want to understand what that struggle might be telling us about their needs, relationships, and experiences rather than simply making the behavior stop. Lasting change for kids most often happens through their most important relationships, so when it makes sense, I involve parents and caregivers in that process. Whether we are working through trauma, anxiety, family stress, or something harder to name, our goal is to build real skills, strengthen the relationships that matter, and move you toward something that actually feels different.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other. I will ask about what has been going on, what feels most pressing, and what you are hoping might be different. You do not need to share everything at once, and we will move at a pace that feels manageable. By the end of our first few sessions, I want us to share a clear picture of what you would like to work on and a plan that actually fits your life. If you are thinking about reaching out, I hope you do.
