Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts with a background that's a little different from most therapists: I've spent my career in high schools, working alongside students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges - the kind that don't always show up in a clinical office, but shape someone's entire trajectory. That experience means I know what anxiety actually looks like in a teenager, what ADHD feels like in a young woman who's been told she just "needs to try harder," and how family stress ripples through every corner of a person's life. All sessions are via telehealth, so you can work with me from anywhere in Massachusetts.

My approach to therapy

My approach is practical and collaborative. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Motivational Interviewing, which means sessions are grounded in evidence but shaped by what actually makes sense for you. Some people need help identifying patterns they can't see on their own. Some people need space to say out loud what they've never said to anyone. Some people need both. I pay attention to what you bring, not just what I'm trained to look for - and I'll be honest with you about what I think will help and what won't.

What you can expect from me

The first session is really just a conversation. I'll ask you about what's been going on, what's brought you to therapy now (rather than six months ago), and what you're hoping changes. I won't rush to label anything or hand you homework before we've even gotten to know each other. I'll also be transparent about what I think I can help with and what might be outside my wheelhouse - I believe you deserve honesty upfront, not six sessions in. By the end of our first hour, you should have a sense of whether this feels like the right fit, and I'll tell you the same thing from my end.
