Great to meet you!

I specialize in working with clients experiencing life challenges such as trauma, grief and loss, chronic health issues, aging and the stress of taking care of aging parents, depression, anxiety, addiction, and other issues.

As a previous researcher in the biomedical field, I have a deep understanding of the interconnectedness between physical and mental health which is an integrated part of my practice.

My approach to therapy

I am a more directive and direct therapist than most. I don't wear a formal "therapist mask" and formal language is often not part of my vocabulary. I believe in being down-to-earth and speaking from the heart. I believe that it is up to me to provide you with a supportive and safe space to share your experiences, thoughts, feelings, and goals. I use a person-centered approach which means I tailor your treatment by pulling from a variety of treatment modalities to fit your individual needs.

What you can expect from me

I am a firm believer that therapy can make a difference in people's lives. I bring that belief into session as well as open-mindedness, acceptance, and compassion.

At the end of some sessions, you will gain skills to practice, leave with a reading assignment related to your issue, or a writing prompt. At other times, you will leave with new insights. My intention is for you to find a safe place to talk, to be heard, and leave knowing there is a way forward.
