Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Annie Mathew, a psychologist in Texas. I work with individuals and families who are feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them - emotionally, relationally, or internally. Many of the people I support are navigating mood disorders, trauma, or complex family dynamics and sense that something deeper is shaping their experiences, even if they can’t quite name it

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, inquisitive, and reflective. I’m especially interested in helping people notice the places where pain has been avoided - not out of weakness, but out of protection. Together, we slow things down and gently turn toward those experiences with curiosity rather than judgment. When we understand what pain is trying to communicate, it becomes possible to integrate it rather than fight it, creating space for more wholeness and healing.

What you can expect from me

I draw from psychodynamic and integrative approaches, allowing therapy to be both insight-oriented and grounded in your present-day life. Our work may explore early relationships, emotional patterns, and unconscious beliefs, while also focusing on how these experiences show up in your relationships, mood, and sense of self today. Therapy with me is collaborative and paced—you don’t need to have the right words or a clear agenda. We discover what matters together.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy reading and long walks, both of which reflect my appreciation for reflection, movement, and the quiet process of understanding. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a thoughtful conversation rather than a performance or a checklist.

If you’re seeking a space to explore your inner world with curiosity, care, and depth, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
