Great to meet you!

My ideal clients are in their teens and twenties. The years between middle school and college graduation can feel overwhelming, but they can also be some of the most important years for growth and change. As a school counselor, I have a deep understanding of the pressures young people face, and I especially enjoy working with teenagers and young adults as they navigate relationships, school, family dynamics, and major life transitions. If you are a parent whose teenager is struggling socially or behaviorally, I will work with you to better understand what is going on, identify core issues, establish healthy family boundaries, and find creative, practical solutions. If you are a college student or young adult looking for support through stress or change, I will help you build tools to handle uncertainty, make wise choices, and move forward with greater confidence.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client-focused, supportive, and practical. I most often use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which means I work with clients to identify what is not working, build on their strengths, and develop realistic tools they can use in everyday life. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be honest, feel understood, and leave with insight as well as strategies that help.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a relaxed conversation focused on getting to know you, what has been feeling difficult, and what kind of support would be most helpful. We will talk through the challenges you are facing, whether that is stress, family conflict, friendships, dating, school pressure, or big life changes, and begin identifying goals for our work together. Landing a job, dating, maintaining friendships, getting along with your family, and trying to get straight A’s in the meantime can feel like a lot. You do not have to sort through it all alone. I am here to help.
