Great to meet you!

The process of finding a therapist can be incredibly difficult, and meeting with various therapists to find the right fit can be exhausting. With years of experience as a therapist in various levels of care, I have significant experience working with people at all stages of their healing journey and in fostering a strong connection within the first few sessions. It is a massive honor to be a part of your therapeutic process, so feedback is encouraged to ensure that you are getting the care that you deserve. I am a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania, and I am also a daughter, sibling, friend, and former collegiate athlete. I find joy in the little things in life, such as puzzles, board games, nature walks, and polymer clay figures, and I value quality time with others more than anything. We are all people first, and I hope that through our work together, you will develop the self compassion to allow yourself to be human.

My approach to therapy

Throughout my years as a therapist, I have gained extensive experience and training in eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I served as a primary therapist and the assistant clinical director at the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care for eating disorder treatment, and am trained in cognitive processing therapy (CPT) to further assist my clients who have experienced trauma. I take a person-centered approach when working with clients, and draw from multiple therapeutic disciplines for interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I utilize the here-and-now in our sessions to challenge patterns of thinking and avoidance that are triggered when discussing emotionally activating topics. I provide an empathetic and safe space for clients in the hope of facilitating the experience of all emotions and welcoming all parts of yourself that deserve to be seen and heard.

What you can expect from me

While working with me, you can expect that in each session I will have a cup of tea in hand and a curious mindset. It is all too often that we enter spaces expecting judgment from others, and my hope is that you enter our sessions knowing that judgment is left behind and that our time spent together is fueled by curiosity, trust, and bravery. I hold space for all emotions to be present, and I also do not shy away from identifying patterns of avoidance when discussing your emotional experiences. There is unlimited power in knowing yourself, and that comes with knowing every part of yourself, not just the ones that we are comfortable with. I am here to sit with you in the discomfort of your emotions, laugh with you, build your toolkit of distress tolerance skills, celebrate your wins, challenge your unhelpful thoughts, reflect on your progress, and identify avoidant patterns in your life that contribute to feeling stuck, all in an effort to facilitate your alignment with your authentic self.
