Hello, I'm Dr. AnnMarie Whithed, a licensed clinical psychologist and trauma therapist with over 17 years of experience supporting adults throughout Florida. I specialize in helping people heal from PTSD, C-PTSD, and complex trauma, as well as grief and loss, depression, anxiety, major life transitions, difficult relationship issues, and recovery from narcissistic abuse or unhealthy interpersonal patterns. My patients are often professionals and adults from diverse backgrounds who want to rebuild resilience, strengthen their sense of self, set healthier boundaries, and move toward greater emotional freedom and fulfillment in their personal and work lives. All of my sessions are offered exclusively through secure online therapy in Florida, making care convenient and accessible from the comfort of your own space. I hold a PsyD from Immaculata University and a Master’s degree from La Salle University. I bring a compassionate, reflective presence to every interaction and am deeply committed to helping you feel truly supported on your healing journey.
I practice from a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and insight-oriented perspective. My foundation lies in psychodynamic understanding, which helps uncover the ways past experiences continue to influence present feelings, behaviors, and relationships. At the same time, I weave in practical Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies to shift unhelpful thinking patterns and build new skills. Sessions often include elements of mindfulness and guided exploration of your personal values, so you can move toward a life that feels more authentic and aligned. If spirituality or faith plays an important role in your life, I welcome those conversations and create room to integrate them thoughtfully into our work. Above all, I strive to maintain a steady, non-judgmental pace that honors where you are and what you need.
During our initial meeting, my main priority is to listen attentively and create a safe space where you can share openly. We’ll talk about what has prompted you to seek therapy, your current struggles, and the changes you hope to see. I’ll also describe how I work so you can get a clear sense of whether my style resonates with you. Most people finish the first session feeling some relief and a bit more hope. There is no pressure or heavy testing — it’s simply a collaborative conversation. I also provide free 15-minute consultations beforehand, which can help you decide if we’re a good match before scheduling ongoing sessions.
