Great to meet you!

There's a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from trying to manage a drinking or substance use problem alone, especially when it's tangled up with trauma, anxiety, or just feeling like no one really gets what you've been through. I work with adults navigating recovery, chronic conditions, PTSD, and the depression and anxiety that so often come along for the ride. A lot of my clients are also sorting through identity, cultural background, or what it means to be a man carrying all of this. I try to build a space where none of that needs to be explained or justified before we can get to work.

My approach to therapy

My goal is for you to leave our sessions with real, usable tools, not just insight, but actual coping skills you can lean on when things get hard. We work together to build resilience, find the coping strategies that actually fit your life, and move you toward change that holds up over time. I tend to work best with people who are ready to look at both the physical and emotional sides of what they're going through, rather than treating recovery as just one or the other. If you're someone who wants a strengths based, practical partner in this rather than someone handing you a worksheet, we'll likely work well together.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a warm, judgment free conversation. I want to get to know your history, what's going on for you right now, and what brought you to therapy at this particular moment. We'll talk about what has and hasn't worked before and start sketching out a plan, but there's no pressure to lay everything out in session one. If this sounds like a good fit, I'd be glad to talk it through together.
