Great to meet you!

You may be used to being the person who handles things on your own, pushes through when life gets difficult, and keeps moving even when something underneath the surface is not working. Maybe substance use has started affecting your relationships or daily life, anger or stress feels harder to manage, or experiences from your past continue to show up in ways you did not expect. You might be struggling in your marriage or family, feeling disconnected from the people closest to you, or simply realizing that the way you have been coping is no longer working. I work with adolescents, adults, and seniors who are ready to understand what is keeping them stuck and make meaningful changes in their lives. I specialize in substance use and addiction, men’s issues, family issues, relationship concerns, and trauma, while also supporting clients with anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief and loss, anger management, stress, identity concerns, LGBTQIA+ concerns, and cultural or ethnic issues. You do not have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can begin with where you are now and work toward greater confidence, healthier relationships, and a life that feels more manageable and fulfilling.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real conversation with a clear purpose. We will look at what is happening now, what may be contributing to it, and what needs to change for life to feel different. My approach is collaborative, practical, and focused on your individual goals. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, we can identify patterns in your thoughts and behaviors that may be keeping you stuck. Motivational Interviewing can help you work through uncertainty about change, particularly when addressing substance use or habits that have become difficult to break. I also draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Attachment Based Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Strength Based Therapy. Whether you are working through trauma, addiction, family conflict, relationship difficulties, anxiety, or depression, our work will focus on building insight while also giving you practical ways to move forward.

What you can expect from me

You do not need to arrive at therapy knowing exactly what to say or what you want to change. In our first few sessions, I will take time to understand what brought you in, what life has been like recently, and what you would like to be different. Together, we will identify goals that feel meaningful to you and decide where our work should begin. You can expect me to listen without judgment while also being honest and helping you challenge patterns that may no longer be serving you. Progress may mean feeling more in control of substance use, communicating differently in your relationships, processing painful experiences, managing anger or stress more effectively, or simply feeling more like yourself again. We will continue checking in on your goals so therapy stays useful and relevant to your life. When you feel ready to begin, you can schedule your first session through Headway.
