Great to meet you!

I’m a licensed psychologist (PsyD) with a background that blends clinical depth, real-world experience, and a deep respect for the complexity of being human. I’ve worked across a wide range of settings, including community mental health, private practice, and correctional environments, often with individuals facing severe mental illness, trauma, addiction, and major life transitions.

My work is informed not only by formal training, but by years of sitting with people in real pain—people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, ashamed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. I work with adults and older adolescents, and I have particular experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction and recovery, ADHD, identity and sexuality concerns, relationship challenges, and questions of meaning or purpose.

Clients often tell me I’m easy to talk to, direct but compassionate, and able to hold both the practical and existential sides of their struggles at the same time. I don’t see therapy as fixing what’s “wrong” with you—I see it as helping you understand yourself more clearly and build a life that actually works for who you are.

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrative, relational, and collaborative. I draw from evidence-based modalities such as humanistic psychology, systems theory, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive and behavioral approaches, mindfulness-based practices, and trauma-informed care, while tailoring treatment to each individual rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all model.

At the core of my work is the belief that symptoms make sense when we understand the context they developed in. Together, we look at patterns—emotional, relational, behavioral—and explore what they’ve been protecting you from, what they’re costing you now, and what alternatives might be possible.

I balance insight with action. Therapy with me isn’t just about talking—it’s about developing awareness, emotional regulation, self-compassion, and practical tools you can actually use in daily life. I aim to create a space that is honest, non-judgmental, and supportive, while also encouraging growth, accountability, and forward movement.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit. I’ll ask about what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and what’s been most difficult lately. We’ll also talk about your history, strengths, and any prior experiences with therapy—what helped and what didn’t.

You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. Many clients come in feeling unsure, nervous, or emotionally flooded—that’s completely okay. My role is to help slow things down, ask the right questions, and create a sense of safety and clarity from the start.

By the end of the first session, most clients leave feeling heard, understood, and a bit more grounded, with an initial sense of direction for our work together. From there, we collaboratively shape goals and determine a pace that feels both supportive and meaningful.
