Great to meet you!

I believe therapy begins with creating a space where people feel genuinely heard, respected, and understood. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that every person possesses inherent dignity, strengths, and the capacity for growth and change. I bring over 25 years of experience as a clinical social worker, educator, and professor of social work to my practice. I work with people navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationships, grief and loss, questions of meaning and purpose, and the challenges that can arise when life no longer feels quite aligned with who we are or hope to become.

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrative and person-centered. Depending on your needs, our work may draw upon insight-oriented and strengths-based therapy, mindfulness and contemplative practices, cognitive and behavioral approaches, and attention to relationships, values, spirituality, and meaning. I help you see and realize your deepest truth and potential.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin creating a safe, supportive space for our work together. I’ll listen deeply to what brings you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope might change. We’ll explore your story, strengths, relationships, challenges, and the sources of meaning and purpose in your life. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals and a path forward, drawing from an integrative approach that may include insight-oriented, narrative, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and spiritually sensitive practices. Most importantly, you can expect to be met with compassion, curiosity, respect, and without judgment.
