Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Anthony Vecchio, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Virginia. I work with adults and older teens who are dealing with anxiety, ADHD, depression, relationship stress, or that sense of feeling stuck even though they’re trying hard to keep life together.

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable individuals who are used to pushing through problems on their own. On the outside things might look mostly fine, but internally they’re dealing with constant overthinking, stress, low motivation, or uncertainty about where their life is headed.

Therapy can be a place to slow things down and figure out what’s actually going on beneath the surface. My goal is to create a space where you can talk honestly about what’s been weighing on you and start making changes that actually move your life in a better direction.

I also enjoy working with older teens who genuinely want support and are trying to figure out who they are, how to manage stress, and how to navigate the transition into adulthood. Those years can be confusing and intense, and having someone to talk things through with can make a real difference.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, conversational, and practical. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits silently and just nods. Therapy works best when it feels like a real conversation with someone who is engaged and willing to help you think things through.

I draw from approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution focused work, but the real focus is helping people understand their patterns and start making choices that move them toward the kind of life they want to be living.

Support and understanding matter, but growth usually requires a little honesty too. When it’s helpful, I’ll challenge patterns that keep people stuck while still respecting the pace that feels right for you.

A lot of my clients appreciate having someone who can both listen carefully and offer perspective when they’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure what to do next.

What you can expect from me

Sessions with me tend to feel relaxed and natural. You don’t have to perform or explain yourself perfectly. My role is to help you sort through what’s going on and figure out what actually helps.

Over time we’ll look at the patterns that contribute to stress, anxiety, or self doubt and work on building healthier ways of responding to life’s challenges. That might include learning how to step back from unhelpful thought loops, improving communication in relationships, or reconnecting with the parts of life that give you energy and meaning.

Most people come to therapy hoping to feel less overwhelmed and more confident in their direction. My goal is to help you leave sessions feeling clearer, more grounded, and better equipped to handle what life throws your way.
