Healing can begin even in the middle of pain, uncertainty, or major life change. Antoinette grew up in the Caribbean on the island of Grenada before moving to Texas for college, and she brings a deeply compassionate, culturally grounded perspective to her work. She believes every person is worthy of growth, healing, and hope, and that each individual has the capacity to move toward a more meaningful life.
Antoinette holds a doctoral degree in Mental Health and Human Services from Houston Baptist University and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. She has worked in the field of education for over 20 years, with the last 12 years focused on mental health counseling for school-aged children, teens, and adults. She also works in an IOP setting, supporting individuals transitioning from inpatient care to outpatient treatment. Antoinette works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, self-harm, emotional distress, mood changes, life transitions, and difficulty coping with overwhelming experiences.
Antoinette’s approach to therapy is client-centered, flexible, and tailored to the specific symptoms, needs, and goals each client brings into session. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and psychoeducation to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT can help identify and change negative thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, and low self-worth, while Motivational Interviewing helps clients strengthen confidence, build readiness for change, and move toward healthier choices.
Her work supports children, teens, and adults who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, stress, grief, school concerns, behavioral challenges, or major life transitions. Antoinette focuses on helping clients build coping skills, improve emotional regulation, increase self-awareness, and take manageable steps toward healing, stability, and wellness.
The first session is a supportive place to begin making sense of what has been weighing on you. Antoinette works to create a safe, welcoming environment where clients can talk about their concerns, whether they are dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, self-harm, stress, or a difficult transition in life. She takes time to understand your story, your current challenges, and the goals you hope to accomplish through therapy.
Her goal is to help clients move forward one step at a time, with a focus on healing, coping, and overall wellness. By the end of the first session, clients can expect to feel heard, supported, and more clear about the path ahead. Antoinette believes that even in darkness, people can find meaning, strength, and hope.
