Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Antoinette — a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) offering virtual appointments across New York. I've been an artist and a natural listener my whole life, so when I discovered art therapy, it felt less like a career choice and more like coming home.

I earned my Master's in Art Therapy and Counseling from Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS), and from the start, I wanted to meet people where they were — literally. I interned across as many settings as I could: schools, women's and family transitional housing, an inpatient psychiatric unit, and a juvenile detention center. Since graduating, I've worked at a Men's Mental Health shelter and have supported a social group for caregivers and their loved ones navigating early-stage dementia. I've sat with people through some of life's hardest chapters, and I don't take that lightly.

My approach to therapy

I work from a trauma-informed CBT framework — but with a belief baked in that we are not just products of our thoughts. We are shaped by our environments, our communities, our histories, and so much that is often outside our control. That context matters, and I always hold it.

As a trained art therapist, I also bring something a little different to the table: when words fall short, we don't have to stop there. Visual and sensory tools can open doors that talk alone sometimes can't. Whether you're someone who's never picked up a paintbrush or someone who creates every day, this isn't about making art — it's about using it as another language to understand yourself.

My approach draws from a range of modalities including Psychodynamic therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Strength-Based, Humanistic, and Trauma-Focused CBT — all tailored to what you need.

I specialize in working with a wide range of experiences and identities, including trauma and PTSD, LGBTQIA+ concerns, identity issues, women's issues, relationship and family challenges, stress and anger management, cultural and ethnic identity, chronic conditions, physical health issues, and end-of-life care.

What you can expect from me

Warmth, curiosity, and zero judgment — that's the baseline. I genuinely look forward to getting to know you: what's brought you here, what you're carrying, and what you're hoping for. Sessions are virtual, which means you can show up from wherever feels most comfortable to you in New York.

We'll build something that actually fits your life. Whether we're working through something specific or just trying to make sense of the noise, I'll be right there with you — ready to explore what we can do together.
