Great to meet you!

Hi, and welcome! I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and finding a therapist you feel comfortable with is important. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges. My clients often describe me as warm, compassionate, easy to talk to, and solution-oriented.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship and family concerns, low self-esteem, stress, difficult life transitions, and challenges with boundaries or putting their own needs first. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in the belief that your experiences deserve to be understood without judgment.

I strive to create a space where therapy feels like a genuine conversation—one where you can be yourself, feel heard, explore difficult experiences, and develop practical tools to help you move forward. I will support and encourage you while also helping you recognize patterns, build on your strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy going to the gym, staying active, taking nature walks, traveling, and getting lost in a good book. These activities remind me of the importance of balance, personal growth, self-care, and making time for the things that help us feel grounded and connected to ourselves.

You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. We can start wherever you are and work together toward where you want to be.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, empowering, and solution-oriented. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, develop effective coping skills, and create changes that align with your goals and values.

I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, strengths-based therapy, and person-centered techniques. Rather than using the same approach with everyone, I tailor therapy to your individual experiences, needs, culture, strengths, and goals.

Together, we may explore how past experiences influence your current thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviors. We will identify patterns that may no longer serve you and develop practical strategies for managing anxiety, improving mood, strengthening self-esteem, establishing healthier boundaries, and navigating life with greater confidence.

Therapy is a partnership. I will listen with compassion, offer support and insight, ask thoughtful questions, and gently challenge you when it may help you grow. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable while remaining focused on the changes that are most meaningful to you.

What you can expect from me

It is normal to feel nervous, uncertain, or even relieved before your first therapy session. My goal is to create a comfortable and welcoming environment where you can begin sharing your story without feeling judged, rushed, or pressured.

During our first session, I will spend time getting to know you, understanding what brought you to therapy, and learning about the experiences and concerns that are affecting you. We will discuss what you hope to gain from therapy, the changes you would like to see, and the strengths and supports you already have.

You do not need to prepare a speech, know exactly what to say, or share everything at once. You are welcome to begin wherever you feel most comfortable. I may ask questions to better understand your experiences, but the conversation will be collaborative and guided by what feels most important to you.

Before the session ends, we will begin identifying goals and discuss how I can best support you moving forward. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, understood, encouraged, and more hopeful about the next steps.
