Great to meet you!

Therapy should feel like a place where you can finally exhale.

Maybe you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or just not quite like yourself lately. Maybe you know exactly what’s wrong, or maybe you just know that something isn’t working anymore. Wherever you’re starting from, you don’t need to have the perfect explanation before coming to therapy. We can figure it out together.

I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. I’m also passionate about helping clients navigate changes in identity, relationships, work, family, and other areas of life.

My clinical experience includes working with individuals and groups around substance use and recovery, supporting individuals living with serious mental health challenges, and helping young people navigate major life transitions. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Children & Youth Studies from Brooklyn College.

I’m a warm, curious, and compassionate therapist who genuinely wants to understand the person behind the symptoms. I believe people are more than their diagnoses, their struggles, or the worst thing that has happened to them. My goal is to create a space where you can be honest, feel understood, and feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are. I want you to leave our sessions with a little more clarity, a few more tools, and hopefully a little more room to breathe.

My approach to therapy

I like to think of therapy as something we do together, rather than something I do to you.

I’ll bring clinical knowledge, curiosity, and plenty of questions, but you bring the expertise on your own life. My job is to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and figure out what you want to do differently.

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), incorporating other evidence-based strategies when they make sense for you. Depending on what you’re working through, we might challenge unhelpful thoughts, build coping skills, work on emotional regulation, improve communication, explore relationship patterns, or simply make sense of something that has been weighing on you.

My experience working with substance use and recovery has also taught me the importance of meeting people without judgment. Change rarely happens in a straight line, and I believe setbacks don’t erase progress. Wherever you are in the process, we can focus on what is within your control and build from there.

I also believe therapy doesn’t have to be serious every second. There is room for humor, curiosity, honesty, and celebrating the little victories. Some sessions might involve deep reflection, while others might be more practical and focused on getting through the week. We’ll adjust based on what you need.

Most importantly, I’ll meet you where you are—not where you think you should be.

What you can expect from me

The first session is less about “doing therapy perfectly” and more about getting to know each other.

We’ll talk about what brought you in, what has been going on, and what you would like to change. I’ll ask questions about your history and current life so I can understand the bigger picture, but you’ll also have plenty of space to ask questions and get a sense of what it might be like to work together.

And if you come in saying, “I honestly don’t know what I need, I just know I can’t keep doing this,” that’s okay too. You don’t need to arrive with a five-year plan and a perfectly organized list of problems.

We’ll start where you are, identify what feels most important, and take it one step at a time. My hope is that you leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and maybe even a little more hopeful than when you arrived.
